The Art of Being Alone on Your Birthday
Yesterday was the first birthday in years where I had the opportunity to be in solitude on my bday, create art, and just meditate on all the blessings of my life. It was like retreat. I rewatched this awesome youtube video called the Art of Being Alone. I loved it. It makes me relish and looking forward to those times where I get to sit alone in a coffeeshop reading, sketching and listening to music. Solitude looks and feels like this to me:

I just love how colorful your photographs are.
Happy birthday!! I love that alone time too... such a great way to rejuvenate!
I usually enjoy my time alone, always have, even as a youngster, but the being alone on my bday seems to nag at me after a while. I think it has something to do with the fact that my bday is on the 4th of July so I'm use to being with a large group of family and friends. The contrast of having birthdays with so many friends and family to being alone (on a holiday) seems to act as a catalyst to the looming day that has still yet to complete itself.
