This week has been complex and dark. Between the Boston bombings and the Texas fires, it's one of those weeks where the world feels like its on fire. I hate watching the news during these times. It is sick when it feels as though the media capitalizes off of people's deep personal tragedies. And just when it seems like the world is going to burn, I take a few minutes to read out of "Cold Tangerines" by Shauna Niequist who states via the Indigo Girls "you need to starve the emptiness and feed the hunger." In weeks like this starving myself of emptiness means turning off noise of the media and relishing in the things I *need* to remind myself that life, although messy, is beautiful. So I feed myself with images of color and people I love.

Yes, it has been a long and sad week.
Do love the color and freshness of your first floral images; thank you for brightening my day.
